According to CNN, Beijing rolled out the red carpet to welcome US President Donald Trump when he arrived in China on the evening of May 13, local time.
About 300 Chinese children in blue and white uniforms waved US and Chinese flags when Mr. Trump appeared from Air Force One. Accompanying Mr. Trump on the trip to China, son Eric Trump, and daughter-in-law Lara Trump also appeared at the airport welcoming ceremony.
President Donald Trump was greeted by Chinese Vice President Han Zheng from the foot of the aircraft stairs. Mr. Han Zheng is considered a special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping at diplomatic events and attended the inauguration ceremony of President Donald Trump in 2025.
Mr. Han Zheng and Mr. Donald Trump walked together on the red carpet while children shouted: "Hello, welcome, warm welcome".
At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, US President Donald Trump visited China from May 13-15.
Xinhua News Agency reported that this is the first US presidential visit to China in nearly 9 years and the second visit by Mr. Trump since November 2017.
According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump will have a broad exchange of views on major issues related to bilateral relations, world peace and development.
