On the afternoon of March 23, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan and Vice President Tran Anh Tu visited and encouraged the Vietnamese national team in the process of preparing for matches during FIFA Days in March.
At the meeting, Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the players during their time playing in the V.League, creating a positive foundation for this gathering.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the VFF Executive Committee, he congratulated the Vietnamese team for officially winning the right to participate in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 finals after the final decision of the Asian Football Confederation regarding the wrongdoings of the Malaysian team in Group F.
In the immediate future, the Vietnamese team will play a friendly match with the Bangladesh team and have an important match against the Malaysian team in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
According to VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan, these are not only matches of professional significance but also directly impact the goal of reaching the top 100 on the FIFA rankings, so the whole team needs to maintain high concentration and maximize their ability.
Recently, the World Football Federation updated the rankings of national teams. Accordingly, the Vietnamese team has increased 5 places, from 108th to 103rd in the world.
This gathering also includes naturalized players such as Nguyen Xuan Son and Hoang Hen. VFF leaders expect the current force to strengthen the team, create effective succession between generations, towards the goal of maintaining its position in Southeast Asia and continuing to affirm itself in the continental arena.
After the meeting, the Vietnamese national team entered the afternoon training session on the same day. Because the group of 7 players from Hanoi Police Club has not yet gathered (will gather on March 24 after completing the postponed match of round 13 of V.League), coach Kim Sang-sik currently does not have enough force.
The coaching staff still implemented the lesson plan according to the plan, with the volume and content adjusted to suit each group of players.
