On the afternoon of April 22, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province held a press conference for the Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament 2026.
This is the official tournament belonging to the professional competition system of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province, implemented annually since 2004.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Trung - Deputy Director of Phu Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Hung Vuong Cup Organizing Committee - said: "The highlight of the Hung Kings Commemoration - Hung Temple Festival and Dat To Culture - Tourism Week 2026 series is the Hung Vuong Cup 2026 volleyball tournament.
Up to this point, preparations have been proactively deployed, basically completed according to the set plan. This year is the 2nd consecutive year that Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company has sponsored funds with a total value of 1 billion VND.
Regarding professional work, the organizing committee has worked with the Vietnam Volleyball Federation to arrange referee teams and supervision to ensure quality and compliance with regulations; arrange training hours before the tournament for the teams.
Regarding facilities, the organizing committee has completed upgrading, ensuring the conditions for organizing the tournament, the lighting system has been upgraded, the competition mat meets international standards; full equipment, installation of the Video Challenger system... contributing to ensuring fairness and professional quality of the tournament".
As usual, the 8 teams participating in the Hung Vuong Cup 2026 are 4 men's teams and 4 women's teams with the best results in the first round of the 2026 national championship.
Accordingly, in the men's category, 4 participating teams are Bien Phong, Ho Chi Minh City Police, The Cong Tan Cang and Hanoi. Meanwhile, 4 women's teams competing are Hanoi Tasco Auto, Hoa Chat Duc Giang Lao Cai, VTV Binh Dien Long An and Binh Chung Thong Tin.
