On June 5, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province coordinated with the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Vietnam; Vietnam Chess Federation to organize the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Youth Chess Championship in Vung Tau City.
This year, nearly 400 young players from 11 provinces and cities across the country participated in the tournament, competing in standard chess, fast chess, lightning chess, super chess, traditional chess for men and women aged 6 to 20.
The tournament is expected to take place from June 5 to June 12. Players with high achievements in the tournament will be awarded medals and considered for conferment according to the standards and regulations in the tournament regulations.
According to the Organizing Committee, the tournament is organized to continue the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho". This is not only an opportunity for young people to compete, demonstrate their talents and intelligence, but also an opportunity for groups to exchange, learn, improve their professional qualifications and build a spirit of solidarity.
At the same time, through the tournament, it will contribute to the development of the training movement, building a force of general chess athletes among young people and students nationwide.
