On the afternoon of June 13, the Vietnam women's volleyball team defeated Kazakhstan 3-1 in the semi-finals of the AVC Nations Cup 2025, thereby winning a ticket to the final.
This result helped coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team gain an additional 5.01 points, thereby reaching 136.20 points and rising to 27th place on the world volleyball rankings. This is also the best achievement of Vietnamese women's volleyball ever.
Before the AVC Nations Cup started, the Vietnamese team ranked 32nd in the world. They broke the record when they were promoted to 29th place, before reaching the current 27th place.

If they compete brilliantly and successfully defend their championship title, it is likely that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will continue to be promoted, being only 2.22 points behind the team above Mexico.
Vietnam is still ranked 4th in Asia, after Japan (ranked 5th in the world), China (ranked 6) and Thailand (ranked 14).
Vietnam's opponent in the AVC Nations Cup final is the Philippines. They beat Taiwan (China) 3-2 to enter the championship match.
The final match between the Vietnamese women's volleyball team and the Philippines will take place at 8:00 p.m. on June 14.
