According to Lao Dong's research, the VTV Cup 2026 International Tournament is expected to take place in Phu Tho and the Vietnamese women's volleyball team aims to achieve the highest ranking.
Last year, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his students reached the VTV Cup 2025 final. However, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team lost 2-3 to Korabelka (Russia) and received the runner-up title.
The VTV Cup 2026 International Tournament competition program will be an opportunity for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to prepare forces towards ASIAD 20.
From June 6 to June 14, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in the first international tournament in the Philippines, the AVC Cup 2026.
In the same year, we will have other international missions such as SEA V.League 2026, VTV Cup 2026, Asian Championship 2026 and ASIAD 20. This year, the women's (indoor) volleyball event of ASIAD 20 will take place from September 16 to September 22.
In 5 consecutive VTV Cups, before this year's tournament took place, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team all reached the final. The team won the championship in 2018, 2023 and was runner-up in 2019, 2024, 2025.
At the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (2026-2031) just held in Hanoi, the Federation Executive Committee set an important task to continue to develop international achievements for the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team.
Therefore, in each training phase, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will be appropriately invested to ensure the set tasks.
