NGUYỄN ĐĂNG |

Racer Patrick Patterson of Team 620 of Vinh Long Agriculture excellently finished first in stage 22 of the 38th Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup cycling race in 2026.

Stage 22 takes place with 10 laps around Cai Khe ward (Can Tho city) with a length of 45km. With a flat track, the distance is not too long, the racers quickly accelerated, forming many small groups.

This is also a stage with 2 bonus points along the way, sprint 1 in lap 3 and sprint 2 in lap 6. As a result in sprint 1, Ilia Shchegolkov (Binh Minh Plastics HCMC) finished first. In the following positions are Ta Tuan Vu (Military Region 7), Dang Van Phap (620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long), Quang Van Cuong (HCMC Police).

In sprint 2, Roman Maikin of Gao Hat Ngoc Troi team ranked first. The next positions belonged to Vo Minh Gia Bao (Military Region 7), Ha Kieu Tan Dai and Ilia Shchegolkov (both of Binh Minh TPHCM Plastics team).

In the final rounds, the competition became even fiercer, and the speed of the racing lineup was pushed very high. Audiences in Can Tho witnessed an impressive showdown between cyclists Marchuk Dzianis, Le Nguyet Minh, Christoph Janssen...

With a strong sprint, finishing at the right time, racer Zachary Patrick Patterson excellently finished first. Ranked 2nd is Lam Gia Hao (Team Dong Thap 2), and Marchuk Dzianis (Kenda Dong Nai) ranked 3rd.

This is the 4th time Patterson - a New Zealand athlete has won stages in this year's tournament after stages 3 (around Hoan Kiem Lake), stage 8 (from Dong Hoi to Phu Xuan) and stage 11 (from Hai Chau - Da Nang to Cam Thanh - Quang Ngai).

On April 28, the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup 2026 cycling race will take place stage 23 with a length of 114km from Cai Khe (Can Tho) to My Tho ward (Dong Thap province). This is a stage with flat terrain that is favorable for teams to organize sprints and compete for stage rankings before entering the penultimate stage of the race.
