Maintain your strength, avoid injuries before the SEA Games

The national sports teams of Vietnamese sports have almost completed the professional training program to help athletes confidently compete in Thailand. It is required that at this time, no athlete has suffered serious injuries.

Avoid injuries

The Vietnamese sports delegation has just suffered a regrettable injury to a player in the throwing event. The Vietnam Athletics Team, Nguyen Hoai Van, suffered a ligament injury during a recent training session. Injuries forced the player to attend the 33rd SEA Games. Even in the registration, Nguyen Hoai Van is the player who will strive to win a medal at the 33rd SEA Games.

Previously, fighter Nguyen Thi Ngoan (karate) suffered a severed heel injury and had to say goodbye early to the 33rd SEA Games. At the time Nguyen Thi Ngoan was injured, the Vietnam Sports Delegation had not yet decided on the official list. Therefore, the Vietnam Karate Team was able to find a replacement player for Nguyen Thi Ngoan. Meanwhile, football player Nguyen Van Truong was injured right before the 33rd SEA Games and could not go to Thailand to compete.

In fact, national sports teams do not want key athletes to be injured. Due to professional nature, it is difficult to avoid affecting health.

In the report on the preparation of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games, Head of the Vietnam Sports Delegation, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh affirmed that all medical work will be best guaranteed so that each athlete will maintain their mental and health state to compete at their best.

On December 3, the leaders of the Vietnam Athletics Federation worked with the coaching staff of the Vietnam Athletics Team and requested that the health of athletes must be guaranteed to the best.

"We require each event group to have guaranteed professional preparation, but now that the competition time is approaching, athletes will be able to maintain the best spirit and avoid maximum injury," shared General Secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung.

Ensuring achievements

The Vietnamese sports delegation participated in 47 events and sub-events at the 33rd SEA Games. Each team took turns starting their journey to Thailand to compete. In particular, the group of competitions on combat (in martial arts) is entering the final stage of preparation, so strong movements and collisions are not allowed to occur.

The representative of the Vietnam National Wrestling Team shared: Our sport has carefully registered the number of athletes according to the competition content. During this training session, dangerous situations are not allowed to occur for absolute safety for athletes". The representative of the Vietnam Pencak silat Team also said that there are only 12 fighters participating in the 33rd SEA Games, so at this time, no athlete's health is affected.

The medical team of the Vietnam Sports Delegation participating in the 33rd SEA Games has been established. Each officer and employee of the Vietnam Sports Delegation's Medical Team is instructed in the spirit of ensuring the best performance of the assigned tasks.

At this time, each national sports team practicing at training locations in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Bac Ninh or Quang Ninh has a medical department directly in charge of health. However, basically, the coach will be the one to ensure the safety of the players from exercises and professional experience.

"Training for national sports teams is being carried out centrally, ensuring compliance with the scientific training cycle. Athletes are improved in physical strength, perfecting techniques and tactics through intensive training at National Sports Training Centers, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh reported at the 33rd SEA Games Departure Ceremony.

The Vietnamese sports delegation will certainly have all the key athletes competing in the 33rd SEA Games. The maximum goal is to win 110 Gold Medals. According to the plan and professional forecast, December 10 will be the time when the Vietnam Sports Delegation will have the first medal results.
