When preparing for the Vietnam Sports Delegation for the 33rd SEA Games, medical work to ensure athletes' health was given top priority. After each day of training, athletes have enough time to relax and undergo fatigue relieving therapy. Above all, the top principle is that no player has health problems when the time to go to Thailand is approaching.
Vietnamese sports have witnessed many cases of key athletes getting injured close to the competition time of major events, causing them to miss the opportunity to win medals. During the 33rd SEA Games professional preparation process, the most regrettable case of absence is karate player Nguyen Thi Ngoan due to a severed tendon injury during a recent professional training session.
Sharing about his experience in ensuring health care before each Congress, Dr. Nguyen Trong Hien expressed many times before: The preparation process for the Congress is a high-intensity process. We are medical professionals who are always on duty with the teams because we cannot let any mistakes happen. Each sport has a different professional movement, so ensuring the best health for the athlete always requires experience from the athletes themselves, the coaches and the health consultants.
The Thai Organizing Committee of the 33rd SEA Games and the Southeast Asian Sports Federation have strict regulations on doping prevention and control at this year's Games. A representative of the Vietnam center for doping and sports medicine affirmed: We are not subjective about doping. The sports industry actively carries out this work and especially the Center's staff have coordinated with national training training management locations in recent times to conduct sessions to share and educate on doping prevention and control. Above all, coaches and athletes who are aware of the potential risks of doping will know how to prevent and ensure their safety.
Vietnamese sports are expected to participate in 47 sports and sub-sports at the 33rd SEA Games. Each subject has careful supervision of medical stages during the preparation process. For the 33rd SEA Games, Vietnamese sports will take about 45 doping test samples before the competition to ensure full regulations from the organizing committee.
