Accordingly, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested departments, agencies, branches, People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones and relevant agencies and units to proactively coordinate with Vietnam Television Station in establishing centralized football screening points in the central area, typical cultural spaces of the city (if there is a need to organize).
At the same time, requesting localities and units organizing public screening activities to be responsible for reporting in writing on the number of screening points and program content to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism for synthesis and monitoring according to regulations.
The organization must ensure to serve the enjoyment needs of the people, comply with technical standards and strict regulations of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA); Regulations of Vietnam Television on public viewing applied to units implementing the FIFA World Cup 2026 public viewing.
Regarding FIFA World Cup 2026 copyright protection, the Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the City Police, departments, agencies, functional sectors, People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones and relevant agencies and units to strengthen inspection and supervision, especially on the online environment, electronic information pages and websites.
The units are responsible for ensuring that all public projection activities, exploitation and use of images of FIFA World Cup 2026 strictly comply with the provisions of law and copyright commitments.
Along with that, promptly detect, prevent and handle violations, avoiding affecting the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnam Television, people, as well as the national image and Hai Phong city.
Currently, Vietnam Television (VTV) is the official unit owning the media copyright of FIFA World Cup 2026 throughout Vietnam. This is the biggest sporting event on the planet, gathering 48 national teams to participate with 104 matches, taking place from June 12 to July 20, 2026 (Vietnam time), attracting special attention from a large number of fans nationwide, including people of Hai Phong city.
According to the rights granted by FIFA, Vietnam Television is allowed to exploit and grant rights to exploit many contents related to the tournament, including the right to organize and grant public viewing licenses for matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 at public venues as prescribed.
