On the afternoon of October 1, coach Vu Hong Viet and central defender Lucas Alves of Nam Dinh club attended a press conference before the match against Eastern (Hong Kong (China)) in the group stage of the AFC Champions League Two 2025-2026.
Speaking to the media, coach Vu Hong Viet affirmed that the team has prepared carefully: "Nam Dinh Club is ready. Through tactical analysis, we have clearly grasped the opponent's strengths and weaknesses.
The grass at Mong Kok Stadium is different from our stadium. Last year, we played here and we knew certain difficulties. However, I think this is not too big an obstacle and the whole team still sets the highest goal".
Sharing the same opinion with the head coach, center back Lucas Alves shared: "We are very happy to return to the AFC Champions League Two and especially once again play at Mong Kok Stadium. However, our team has not made too many changes.
Above all, with the coaching staff's tactics, we believe that we will win again. There will be certain differences when competing in different arenas, but the important thing is that we all have a common spirit of determination and victory".
Last season, Nam Dinh played at Mong Kok Stadium and won against Lee Man of Hong Kong (China) with a score of 2-0 in the first leg (later won 3-0 in the second leg at home).
However, this field surface uses ginger leafy grass, which is considered quite difficult to compete in, causing Nam Dinh coaching staff to still have certain concerns.
The match between Eastern and Nam Dinh will take place at 5:10 p.m. on October 2 (Vietnam time).
