After the defeat to Indonesia in the quarterfinals of the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship on the evening of February 3rd, head coach Diego Giustozzi frankly shared about the results, performances of his students as well as the development orientation of the Vietnamese futsal team in the coming time.
The Argentine coach admitted that he had many mixed emotions when witnessing the team stop. He said: "This is a very different emotion. I am really proud of the players and of the tournament we went through.
But I am not satisfied with the result, because I think we deserved at least a draw, or even a victory.

According to the head coach of the Vietnamese futsal team, this is a match where the team is completely capable of winning a better result. "We did everything to win the match. I am not satisfied with the final result, but very satisfied with the performance of the whole team, both in terms of individual performance and collective play. I believe that we are going in the right direction," he emphasized.
Looking at the long journey, coach Diego Giustozzi expressed his belief in the development potential of Vietnamese futsal. "Vietnamese futsal has the present and the future. But at this time, we need to make very important decisions.
Players need more experience, need to play more, go through many different circumstances and challenges. I believe Vietnam is a very good team," coach Giustozzi said.
