On the morning of April 20, at the Yen Tu Special National Monument (Thuong Yen Cong Commune, Uong Bi City), the People's Committee of Uong Bi City coordinated with the Journalists Association of Quang Ninh Province and Great Race Vietnam Company to organize the Yen Tu Mountain climbing Contest 2025 - Conquering Phu Van Peak.
This year's tournament has two competition distances of 5km and 8km, measured and standardized according to the advice of leading sports experts in the country.

The route reaches an altitude of 1,068m above sea level, passing through many relic sites such as the pagoda, tower, Tung street, Truc forest in Yen Tu National Special Relic Site.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Uong Bi City, Head of the Organizing Committee - said: Yen Tu is an invaluable cultural heritage, associated with the unique historical, ideological and cultural imprint of King - Buddha Tran Nhan Tong and the Truc Lam Zen sect.
The mountain climbing tournament is a meaningful activity that contributes to honoring and spreading the cultural and spiritual values of Yen Tu, while promoting the destination on the journey towards recognizing Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Complex as a World Heritage Site".

After 12 years of interruption, the tournament returned to a large scale, professional, combining sports and spiritual tourism.
The tournament has more than 2,000 professional and amateur athletes from nearly 30 provinces and cities across the country, along with nearly 2,000 officials, civil servants, workers and local people.

Final results, at the 5km distance, women's champion: Athlete Nguyen Thi Thanh (BIB 52392); Men's champion: Athlete Phung Huy Gioi (BIB 52021)
In the 8km distance, women's champion: Athlete Ngo Thi Tuyet Chinh (BIB 81418); Men's champion: Athlete Pham Van Dong (BIB 81655)

The organizing committee also awarded Second and Third prizes and honored the top 10 male and female athletes in both competition distances.

With a healthy and united sportsmanship, thousands of athletes have broken through, conquered challenges and spread the dynamic and hospitable image of Uong Bi City in particular and Quang Ninh in general.
