According to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the domestic wastewater treatment model for Tan Dinh and Lien Thanh villages (Cam Nhuong commune) has been devastated after many years of inactivity.
The settling tank system, self-destroying tunnels, machinery, equipment... are all in a state of damage, rust, and serious degradation. Around, weeds grow wildly, becoming a place for mice and flies to live, which are both dirty and shabby.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Head of Tan Dinh village - said that in 2020, the pilot model of domestic wastewater treatment for residential clusters and people in Tan Dinh village was implemented, making people very excited. However, the project has been damaged after a few months of use.
Since 2021, the project has stopped operating after many unsuccessful repairs. From there, the hope of a model for treating domestic wastewater of more than 330 households in Tan Dinh village is gone.
At the same time in 2020, a similar domestic wastewater treatment model was implemented in Lien Thanh village but it also quickly deteriorated and could not operate.
More than 300 households in this village are also helpless when domestic wastewater is discharged directly into the environment without being treated.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Chairman of Cam Nhuong Commune People's Committee - said that the two models of domestic wastewater treatment for Tan Dinh and Lien Thanh residential areas operating using homemade technology, on a small scale and at low capacity are ineffective.

These are 2 projects invested in by the Central New Rural Coordination Office - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) in coordination with the Center for Environmental Technology Analysis and Transfer (Institute of Agricultural Environment) in 2020.
Faced with the situation of the project being damaged early and not being effective, the Cam Nhuong commune government has proposed that the superiors invest in building a large-scale, more modern domestic wastewater treatment plant.
Thereby, it is possible to effectively and stably treat domestic wastewater in the long term to minimize environmental pollution, limit the impact on Thien Cam sea tourism area when this commune is connected to Thien Cam sea.
