SEA Games pressure
The Vietnamese jujitsu team has developed a professional preparation plan to participate in the 33rd SEA Games and strives to win at least 1 Gold Medal. When jujitsu officially entered competition at the Southeast Asian Games at the 30th SEA Games, Vietnamese jujitsu players always won medals.
Countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore have strong fighters, so competing for SEA Games results against these opponents is not easy. However, we believe that Vietnamese players with thorough training will overcome the pressure to achieve the expected results when competing in the 33rd SEA Games, said Mr. Tran Van Thach, head of the jujitsu department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports).
Currently, the Vietnam jujitsu Team focuses on training 16 key players. The coaching staff carefully reviews the skills of athletes through each international and domestic tournament before officially registering for the 33rd SEA Games.
Jujitsu at SEA Games 33 has 18 competition content divided equally for categories including Ne Waza (7 Content), Fighting (4 Content), Duo Classic (7 Content). The opportunity to come to Thailand is divided equally among all Jujitsu Vietnam players if the boxer is the best performance and the coaching staff only brings the 33 SEA Games people forecasting the achievement.
Having a star, having development appeal
The Vietnamese jujitsu team is competing in the 2025 Asian jujitsu Championship held in Jordan. We have soon won 2 important Gold Medals from players Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc and Tran Hong An. In addition to them, famous boxers Dao Hong Son and Nguyen Thi Minh Vuong won Gold Medals for themselves.
In recent years, many jujitsu fighters have become famous for their professional achievements and have been enthusiastically cheered by fans. With this encouragement, the sport has developed strongly in Vietnam" - coach Bui Dinh Tien added. The Asian jujitsu Championship is a place where the continental top fighters gather and Vietnamese athletes have become famous many times since competing here.
In fact, major cities across the country have jujitsu clubs training amateur athletes and professional athletes. The 2025 National jujitsu Club Championship (April 2025) recently recorded nearly 400 fighters from more than 23 clubs participating. The numbers show how much interest jujitsu has in training and coaching athletics.
However, the positive impact for the sport to attract the attention of fans is having idol athletes. Many of Vietnam's leading jujitsu players at the moment such as Phung Thi Hue, Dao Hong Son, Can Van Thang, Dang Dinh Tung, Tran Hong An, Nguyen Thi Minh Vuong, Le Kien... have created significant attention through tournaments.
However, the professional manager of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports once analyzed that for jujitsu to develop well in Vietnam, the synchronization in investment must be effective, including investment from the governing unit, development orientation and finding capable human resources.
The most important goal of the Vietnam jujitsu Team is to achieve high results in the international arena. The high achievements of the Vietnam jujitsu Team will help localities see that the investment in developing their fighters is effective.
