Accordingly, the incident happened on the afternoon of April 30th at Can Tho stadium, in the final round. Racer D. H. Q. H (No. 12), belonging to Bo Cau A Trang MFZ 262 Team, was driving a Yamaha Exciter 150cc motorbike.
In the 10th lap - the final lap, when entering bend number 3, this athlete suddenly lost control, causing the car to overturn and be thrown off the track. The strong impact onto the field caused serious injuries.
Functional agencies determined that the competition area had been installed with shock-resistant barriers made of inflatable buoys and rice husks according to standards. The racer was also fully equipped with protective gear and helmets. However, due to the car moving at high speed and high inertia, serious injuries occurred.
Right at the scene, the victim fell into a deep coma, was given first aid by medical forces, had her neck fixed and was transferred to Can Tho City General Hospital by ambulance.
At the hospital, doctors diagnosed the racer with multiple serious injuries, including a cervical spine fracture and traumatic brain injury. Despite actively being treated, the victim did not survive.
Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City assessed that this was an unintended incident, causing great losses. After the incident, the organizing committee and the referee force went to the victim's family in Lam Dong to visit, share condolences and provide partial financial support.
