LPB Ninh Binh - Quang Ninh
The earliest match of the second phase of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship for women is the competition between LPB Ninh Binh and Quang Ninh. With superior squad quality, defending champion LPB Ninh Binh is rated higher than its opponent.
However, the surprise happened in set 1. Spiker Yeliz Basa showed his efficiency on the attack, with an impressive performance helping Quang Ninh win 25-23 in the first set. Thanks to the excellence of captain Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, LPB Ninh Binh won 25-22 in set 2, equalizing the score 1-1.
The two teams continued to create a tug-of-war after that. Quang Ninh won 28-26 (set 3) and LPB Ninh Binh won 25-20 (set 4) to bring the match into the deciding set 5.
In set 5, both teams continued to play tit for tat for each point. On Quang Ninh's side, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh and Yeliz Basa were the two main scorers. However, with the excellence of Bich Tuyen, LPB Ninh Binh won 18-16, thereby winning the final score with a score of 3-2.
Duc Giang Chemical and Information Corps
After the opening ceremony, the match that received the most attention was between the Signal Corps and Duc Giang Chemicals. The two teams created a tense match, playing tit for tat in all sets.
Despite continuously leading, the Signal Corps played carelessly, revealing many gaps. Taking advantage of this, Duc Giang Chemicals with sharp attackers like Tu Linh, Bich Thuy, and foreign player Boonlet won the first two sets, with scores of 26-24 and 25-22 respectively.
Forced to win, the girls in military uniforms rose up in set 3. With the rotation in the setter position between Lam Oanh and Linh Chi, coach Pham Minh Dung's team had more attacking options to win 25-21 in set 3.
With determination and high spirits after winning the 3rd set, Kieu Trinh and her teammates continued to have a dramatic victory 27-25 in set 4, thereby bringing the match into the deciding set 5.
In this set, the girls of Duc Giang Chemicals were the team that played with more courage to win 16-12, thereby winning the final score with 3-2.
