The Vietnamese swimming team ended the 33rd SEA Games competition with a total of 6 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 10 bronze medals. In which, the gold medal results belonged to Nguyen Huy Hoang (1 500m freestyle), Nguyen Quang Thuan (400m individual medley), Pham Thanh Bao (100m frog, 200m frog), Tran Hung Nguyen (200m individual medley) and the men's 4x200m freestyle relay.
The Vietnamese swimming team registered 16 athletes to compete in the 33rd SEA Games. The swimming pool players competed with great effort and left many impressions of their achievements. Among them, many young faces such as Thuy Hien, Nguyen Quoc, Hoang Quy... have medals for themselves.
At the 33rd SEA Games, swimmer Nguyen Quang Thuan won the gold medal for the first time after winning the individual 400m mixed distance. This is one of the impressive results of the Vietnamese Swimming Team in Thailand this year.
The Vietnamese swimming team won medals in 4 weightlifting events at the 33rd SEA Games, including men's 4x200m freestyle, women's 4x100m freestyle, men's 4x100m mixed and women's 4x200m freestyle. At this SEA Games, Pham Thanh Bao is the only swimmer to win 2 individual gold medals in the events she participated in.
