According to information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security, from 12:00 on December 12, 2025 to 12:00 on December 13, 2025, the camera system applying artificial intelligence (AI) continues to be effective in monitoring and detecting violations of traffic order and safety in Hanoi and the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway.
According to data recorded at km20 of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway, AI cameras have recorded 16,341 vehicles traveling through this area, with an average speed of 67.5km/h.
Through image analysis, the system detected 1 case of the driver not wearing a seat belt; no cases of using a phone while driving were recorded. In case of violation, the vehicle owner has been informed for handling in accordance with regulations.
In the inner city of Hanoi, through extracting data from AI cameras operated by the Traffic Police Department, piloted installation at the Pham Van Bach - Hoang Quan Chi intersection (Cau Giay ward), the automatic system detected 35 cases of motorbike and motorbike drivers not wearing helmets.
In addition, there were 50 cases of not obeying traffic light signals (running red lights). No cases of going in the wrong direction at this intersection during the same period were recorded.
On Le Van Luong Street, the AI camera did not detect any cases of vehicles going in the wrong lane.
According to the authorities, all of the above violations have been transferred to the Hanoi City Police and related units to carry out handling procedures according to the law.
The application of AI cameras in traffic management and supervision continues to be expected to contribute to raising awareness of law compliance of traffic participants, while supporting the authorities in ensuring traffic order and safety.

On December 13, Hanoi City Police held an inauguration ceremony for the Smart Traffic Control Center and the AI camera system to handle violations of traffic safety and order.
Accordingly, from December 13, the Smart Traffic Control Center officially operates a system including 1,837 AI camera eyes at 195 key intersections.
