For the first time, the Hanoi men's volleyball team hired foreign players to participate in the National Championship. The team representative confirmed that the main striker Kuon Mom (Cambodia) will wear the shirt to participate in the second phase of the 2025 National Championship, starting on October 10 in Ninh Binh.
Striker Kuon Mom is expected to return to Vietnam to train with the Hanoi team on September 20. Last year, this hitter competed in the 2024 National Championship with the Tay Ninh men's team (formerly known as Long An).
Striker Kuon Mom is a member of the Cambodia Men's Volleyball Team that won the silver medal at the 32nd SEA Games in 2023. Recently, this hitter competed with the Cambodian team in 2 stages of the 2025 SEA V.League.
This player with a height of 1m98 is considered a good player in his profession, capable of finishing in decisive scoring situations. Kuon Mom's transfer value to the Hanoi men's volleyball team was not disclosed.
Thus, the Hanoi men's team has marked a significant professional change thanks to the addition of foreign player Kuon Mom.
Since foreign players were allowed to return to Vietnam to compete in 2022, the Hanoi men's volleyball team has never hired foreign players due to lack of funding.
The Hanoi Volleyball Federation has called for social resources to help the Hanoi men's team hire foreign players. The team's goal at the 2025 National Championship is to successfully stay in the league.
