Focus on doing big tasks
The training program at overseas training locations has been calculated by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation when each coaching staff reports on the training plan for national tasks in 2025.
General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation - Mr. Le Tri Truong - said: "The decision to send the two Vietnam men's and women's volleyball teams to train at training locations abroad is being considered. This is in the professional plan. However, we are currently calculating training scores that meet the criteria of funding and training quality.
The current time is the period when national volleyball teams (home) receive investment priority in the face of social attention. The view from the management level of the Volleyball Federation is that with the ability to provide the best support and at the same time we possess a generation of good and professional players capable of competing to achieve international results, the investment will be the maximum.
In early May 2025, after the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team officially launched its own sponsor, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet expressed his great hope that with the available resources, the team should be trained (at the right time) abroad. Here, Mr. Kiet's wait will come true.
Training both domestically and internationally must focus on the decisive task of improving the qualifications of the national volleyball team. We do not conduct training abroad to change the training atmosphere, but need to be truly professional.
General Secretary Le Tri Truong revealed that training locations in Japan and China are being selected as a suitable place to bring the two Vietnam Men's and Women's Volleyball Teams to practice. The overseas training program is expected to be implemented in October 2025.
All tournaments are for one goal
In fact, the Vietnam men's and women's volleyball teams that are gathered each year will depend on the specific tournament tasks. This year, the two teams have developed a teamwork training plan to focus on the highest goal of winning the 33rd SEA Games medal. Each team has received performance targets, in which coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team (women's team) are responsible for winning the SEA Games 33 Gold Medal.
Many professional opinions have been given at meetings of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation to help managers have more perspectives on how to invest and develop to achieve the best results.
Vice President of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation Tran Duc Phan once affirmed that winning a Gold Medal at the SEA Games is not easy, but if we invest effectively and appropriately, we will have real opportunities. However, it is necessary for Vietnamese volleyball to develop a systematic development investment plan with a roadmap and a scientific system, and we have not been able to do this yet.
20 players of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team and 16 players of the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team are currently focusing on being the best players chosen by each coaching staff from the 2025 Vietnam National Volleyball Championship.
The tournament has 8 men's teams and 8 women's teams. The Vietnam Volleyball Federation wants to improve the quality of the tournament's expertise, so it has reduced the number of participating teams. This means that the athletes of the tournament will develop their skills better and the national volleyball teams will benefit. However, competing domestically and internationally is different.
Before participating in the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team competed in 6 international tournaments, the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team participated in 3 international tournaments to improve their expertise. Combined with an overseas training program, all expect Vietnamese players to be confident to succeed in Thailand in December.
