The semi-final matches of women's volleyball at the 33rd SEA Games ended on December 14, thereby determining the two teams that won the right to play in the final match for the gold medal.
There is no surprise when Vietnam and Thailand - the two leading forces of Southeast Asian volleyball - continue to participate in the final match, recreating the familiar competition for the title of Miss SEA Games 2025 as at many previous Games.
The upcoming confrontation will be the 12th time Vietnam and Thailand have met in the final match of the women's indoor volleyball tournament at the SEA Games. In the previous 11 times, Thailand won all, mainly with scores of 3-0 or 3-1, showing a clear advantage. The home team is also facing the opportunity to win the 15th consecutive gold medal in this event.
Despite having defeated Vietnam more than 40 times in official tournaments, Thailand had to accept a turning point defeat when they lost 2-3 to us in the final of the second stage of the 2025 SEA V.League.
That result forced coach Kiattipong and his team to enter this SEA Games with great determination to "pay off debt", especially in the context of the Vietnam women's volleyball team without the service of Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen.
