According to information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security, between 12:00 on December 13, 2025 and 12:00 on December 14, 2025, the camera system using artificial intelligence (AI) operated by the Traffic Police Department has recorded and detected many violations of traffic order and safety on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway and the inner city of Hanoi.
Accordingly, at km20 of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway, the AI camera recorded 14,231 vehicles traveling at an average speed of 72km/h.
Through data analysis, the system detected 13 cases of drivers not wearing seat belts; no cases of using phones while driving were recorded. These violations have been reported to the vehicle owner for handling according to regulations.
In the inner city of Hanoi, through data extracted from the pilot AI camera installed at the Pham Van Bach - Hoang Quan Chi intersection (Cau Giay ward), the automatic system detects 30 cases of vehicle drivers not wearing helmets.
Notably, there were up to 124 cases of motorbikes and mopeds driving without obeying traffic light signals (running red lights). During the same period, no cases of going in the wrong direction were recorded in this area.
In addition, the AI camera installed on Le Van Luong Street did not detect any cases of vehicles going in the wrong lane.
According to the authorities, all of the above violations have been transferred to the Hanoi City Police and related units to carry out the handling process in accordance with legal regulations.

On December 13, Hanoi City Police held an inauguration ceremony for the Smart Traffic Control Center and the AI camera system to handle violations of traffic safety and order.
Accordingly, from December 13, the Smart Traffic Control Center officially operates a system including 1,837 AI camera eyes at 195 key intersections.
