Cambodia's suspension of all activities at the border with Thailand comes as the two countries are still at war.
The Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to temporarily suspend all entry and exit activities at all Cambodia - Thailand border gates, effective immediately and until further notice, AFP quoted the Cambodian Ministry of Home Affairs as saying.
The fighting along the Cambodia - Thailand border entered the 7th day on December 13.
As of 12:30 on December 13, the number of displaced people in Cambodia has increased to 356,948, equivalent to 106,558 families, according to Soth Kimkolmoni, a spokesperson for the National Disaster Management Committee of Cambodia.
Fierce fighting continued on the morning of December 13 along the Thai-Cambodian border. The development comes after US President Donald Trump, as a mediator, announced a ceasefire by both countries.
Thai officials said the country did not agree to a ceasefire. Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow said that some of President Trump's comments did not "reflect an accurate understanding of the situation".
Cambodian media reported President Trump's statement and did not have any further information. Cambodia's Ministry of Defense said Thai aircraft carried out airstrikes on the morning of December 13.
The latest Thailand-Cambodia border clash broke out after a clash on December 7, injuring two Thai soldiers and breaking a ceasefire brokered by President Donald Trump to end five days of fighting in July.
