The organizers of the Singapore International Challenge 2026 Badminton Tournament have announced the registered players to compete.
In the men's singles event, Vietnamese badminton has some players participating including Nguyen Hai Dang, Le Duc Phat, Nguyen Tien Minh, Phan Phuc Thinh.
Nguyen Tien Minh will have to compete in the preliminary round to compete for a spot in the men's singles main round. Phan Phuc Thinh will also compete like his senior. Nguyen Hai Dang and Le Duc Phat are awarded official spots in the men's singles event.
Currently, Nguyen Tien Minh is the oldest badminton player in Vietnam who is still playing professionally. The player from Ho Chi Minh City is just over 43 years old. The most recent international tournament that Tien Minh has played is the International Series 2025 competition in Bangladesh in December last year.
In the Singapore International Challenge 2026 badminton tournament, Tien Minh's wife, player Vu Thi Trang, also participated. She competed in the women's singles event.
This player did not have to participate in the preliminary round, but got an official spot. Young face Bui Bich Phuong will go to Singapore to compete. Vu Thi Trang and Bui Bich Phuong once won a bronze medal in women's doubles for the Vietnamese badminton team at SEA Games 33 in Thailand.
The Singapore International Challenge 2026 badminton tournament is held from February 24 to 1. 3. This means that players will take the court right after the Tet holiday ends.
