Nguyen Thuy Linh is competing in Indonesia. In the afternoon of January 22, the Vietnamese badminton player competed with world No. 14 opponent Chiu Pin-Chian (Taiwan, China) in the women's singles round 2. This is also the No. 7 seed player in Indonesia this time.

The two players played fiercely in 2 sets to win each important point for themselves. The match could only end after nearly 1 hour of competition. With her calmness, Nguyen Thuy Linh excellently defeated her opponent with a score of 2-0 (21-17, 23-21).

The victory helped Thuy Linh reach the quarterfinals, and she will meet player Pitchamon Opatniputh (Thailand) on January 23.

The Indonesia Masters 2026 badminton tournament belongs to the BWF World Tour 500 level of world badminton. Nguyen Thuy Linh is the only representative of Vietnamese badminton participating in the competition.

She was not seeded in the women's singles, although the top face of Vietnam is showing the best form. A week earlier, Thuy Linh competed in India but soon stopped in the second round. She just increased her rankings to return to the 21st position in the world women's singles.

This year, Nguyen Thuy Linh will have many international competition tasks, in which the player is planned to prepare for the Asian Championship, World Championship and ASIAD 20. The Vietnamese badminton team expects the player to achieve good results when competing in ASIAD 20 in Japan.
