Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh is Head of the High-performance Sports Department

Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh was appointed Head of the High Performance Sports Department - Department of Physical Education and Sports.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, from March 11, 2025, the Department of Physical Education and Sports will only have 1 High-performance Sports room.

Previously, the Department had 2 units managing and advising on high-performance sports, namely High Performance Sports Department 1 and High Performance Sports Department 2.

After arranging personnel, on March 19, Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports - Dang Ha Viet presented the decision to appoint the staff of the High-performance Sports Department. Accordingly, Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh will hold the role of Head of the High-performance Sports Department.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh has been Deputy Head of the Vietnam Sports Delegation for the SEA Games, ASIAD, Olympics, Youth Olympics 6 times and is a member of the Southeast Asian Law Council.

In addition to the Head of the Department, the Department of Physical Education and Sports also appointed 6 more deputy heads of the Department, including Mr. Ngo Ich Quan, Nguyen Manh Hung, Dao Duc Kien, Le Thanh Ha, Nguyen Quoc Hung and Vu Xuan Thanh.

According to the assignment of functions and tasks, the High-performance Sports Department is responsible for providing high-performance professional advice to the leaders of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports.

From there, the management department will advise on plans, propose strategies and investment guidelines suitable for training high-performance sports coaches and athletes for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In addition, from March 11, 2025, the National Sports Training Centers will also change their names, functions and tasks.

The Hanoi National Sports Training Center was renamed the National High-level Athletes Training Center; the Ho Chi Minh City National Sports Training Center was renamed the National Sports Training Center; the Da Nang National Sports Training Center was renamed the National Youth Athletes Training Center.
