The 2026 title helps Vietnamese billiards reach the highest position for the second time in the last three years. Previously, in 2024, Quyet Chien and Bao Phuong Vinh won the championship, and in 2025 won the runner-up position. In this year's tournament, the Vietnamese team passed the group stage when facing Germany, France and Mexico; won against Turkey in the quarterfinals and defeated Sweden in the semi-finals before winning the championship.
