The U21 Vietnam women's volleyball team won against U21 Indonesia, U21 Serbia, and U21 Canada, but FIVB canceled the results and awarded them.
The coaching staff of the Vietnam U21 Women's Volleyball Team did not share much from Indonesia. However, coach Nguyen Trong Linh affirmed that this loss significantly affected the psychology of young Vietnamese players.
The incident happened before we played against the Puerto Riku U21 team on August 12. The organizing committee has requested to check the athlete records of two members of the Vietnam U21 Women's Volleyball Team.
On the night of August 12 (Vietnam time), FIVB issued an official announcement. One of the contents of the document affirmed: The investigation concluded that the player mentioned did not meet the conditions under Article 12.2 of the 2023 FIVB Disciplinary Regulations.

This is the first time the Vietnamese youth women's volleyball team has participated in the World Championship at its level. Previously, the young Vietnamese players had reached the fifth place when participating in the 2024 U20 Asian Championship to officially qualify for the 2025 U21 Women's Volleyball World Cup.
It is their honor to have players on the field. Vietnamese volleyball always complies with the regulations according to the regulations of international tournaments. Mr. Le Tri Truong - General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation once discussed that the technical meeting before each tournament is an opportunity to implement proposals or requirements to resolve problems.
At the 2025 U21 Women's Volleyball World Cup, there is no requirement to check the records of Vietnamese athletes. Our players played according to regulations but in the end the results were canceled after professional efforts.
For the first time, Vietnamese volleyball has been involved in controversy over the records of athletes at international tournaments. Many shares are being made after the announcement of FIVB on many volleyball forums on social networks in Vietnam and some countries in Southeast Asia.
Any athlete wants to compete in accordance with the regulations on the regulations. No one violated the regulations. It is necessary that the Organizing Committee of each tournament must have a specific announcement to avoid affecting the psychology and image of the players.
The Vietnam Volleyball Federation said that there will be an official announcement to the media. However, we need to learn from experience to avoid incidents like in Indonesia this time because it will greatly affect athletes.
Recently, Thai media reported that the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship will consider testing the gender of players if there are doubts. However, this issue is being discussed to avoid controversy.
