Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen continued to show good form and won a gold medal in the women's singles U17 event at the 2026 National Junior Badminton Championships Donex Cup.

In the U17 women's singles final, Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen (Da Nang) convincingly defeated player Tran Do Bao Quynh (Ca Mau).
In this event, 2 players Nguyen Thuy Duong (Dien Bien) and Vu Tue Linh (Hanoi) both received bronze medals.
Also at the tournament, Thu Huyen won another gold medal in the U17 women's doubles event.
The player competed with teammate Tran Thao An to win in the final match against the opponent pair Nguyen Bao Ngoc, Nguyen Quynh Mai (Bac Ninh).
In this year's tournament, the championship in the men's singles U17 event belonged to player Nguyen Tan Nghia (HCMC). Tan Nghia defeated teammate Ngo Nhat Khanh (both HCMC) in the decisive final.
At the tournament, the biggest surprise was that the Hanoi youth badminton team only won 1 gold medal. The above achievement belonged to player Bui Quang Trung Hieu in the U9 men's singles event.
On the overall standings, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Badminton Team ranked first with 5 gold medals, 7 silver medals, 13 bronze medals. Hai Phong team won second place with 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 2 bronze medals and third place was Dong Nai team with 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 2 bronze medals.
This year's tournament has 27 units nationwide registered to participate in the competition.
