Recently, the World Badminton Federation BWF awarded a female event spot to Vietnamese badminton to participate in the 2026 Youth Olympics.
We are still hoping to be awarded an additional male event spot in the near future.
In terms of age to participate in the 2026 Youth Olympics, Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen is suitable. The player is currently a good face in the youth events of Vietnamese women's badminton. Thu Huyen is being trained at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports.
The badminton event of the 2026 Youth Olympics will decide the list of players to be officially crowned in September this year. The competition program of this event at the 2026 Youth Olympics will take place from November 1st to November 5th.
Badminton of the 2026 Youth Olympics only organizes competitions in men's and women's singles. Each event will be awarded 32 official participation slots.
The Vietnamese badminton team once had 2 slots to participate in the 2018 Youth Olympics in Argentina.
At that time, players Vu Thi Anh Thu and Nguyen Hai Dang had competed. From the 2018 Olympics to now, Anh Thu and Hai Dang continue to develop their expertise and compete to achieve some good results in the domestic and international competition systems.
