On the afternoon of August 27, the Vietnam women's volleyball team lost 0-3 to Kenya in the final match of Group G of the 2025 World Championship. With this result, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team have said goodbye to the tournament after three consecutive losses.
After the match with Kenya, striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy shared: "I have had the opportunity to experience competing with higher-class athletes. I myself felt a little disappointed because the whole team did not have the best performance today.
However, I would like to send my congratulations to Kenya. They played very well. After the tournament, we will return to compete in the national championship and prepare for the 33rd SEA Games".
When asked by reporters if there were any words to convey to fans, Thanh Thuy asked for permission to use Vietnamese right on television.
She expressed: "Thank you everyone for always cheering for the Vietnam women's volleyball team. Although the whole team did not have a really good performance today, this will be a lesson. Hopefully everyone will always support and cheer for the team".
The Vietnam women's volleyball team will return home. The players will return to the club to prepare for the second phase of the 2025 national championship.
Meanwhile, Thanh Thuy will return to Thailand when participating in the 2025 King's Cup with VTV Binh Dien Long An club (from August 14 to August 19) before going to Japan to join Gunma Green Wings in October.
