The V.League 2026-2027 Organizing Committee has just announced the list of players to be sidelined in round 1. Among these, The Cong Viettel and Hanoi are two notable teams that suffered losses in force right in the opening match.
According to the announced list, Doan Ngoc Tan of The Cong Viettel will not be able to play in the first round. The number 34 midfielder must be sidelined due to receiving a red card in the 2025-2026 season.
The Cong Viettel will meet Truong Tuoi Dong Nai in round 1 of V.League 2026-2027 on September 4. Doan Ngoc Tan's absence caused the army team to lose a plan in the midfield area in the first match of the new season.
Meanwhile, Hanoi also suffered similar losses when Nguyen Cong Nhat was suspended. The player wearing number 22 received a red card last season and had to miss the opening match of V.League 2026-2027.
Hanoi will play away against Ho Chi Minh City Police on September 5. This is one of the notable matches in the opening round, when the Capital team has to face a highly rated opponent and does not have a full force in midfield.
Two cases Doan Ngoc Tan and Nguyen Cong Nhat are the only players of The Cong Viettel and Hanoi who are on the rest list in round 1 due to red cards from last season.
V.League 2026-2027 kicks off from September 4 with the participation of 14 clubs. The teams compete in a two-round round-robin format, home and away, with a total of 26 rounds.
The Cong Viettel and Hanoi both aim to compete in the top group of the new season. Therefore, the shortage of players right in the first round may somewhat affect the personnel and tactical calculations of the two teams.
