HOÀI VIỆT |

Vietnamese sports have registered for the expected events in the official competition program of the 33rd SEA Games and once again we will be present in the important events of the congress.

100 Gold Medals will be the pressure

The highest requirement that Vietnamese sports set for attending the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) is to maintain the top 3 countries with leading medal achievements.

The task assigned to the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports for the 33rd SEA Games is the Vietnam Sports Delegation with the results in the 3 final leading positions. host Thailand has announced 51 official events organized at the 33rd SEA Games (the total number of events and sub-events is 66).

Information from the Vietnam Olympic Committee said that Vietnamese sports have registered to participate in 45 sports and sub-events (out of a total of 66 sports and sub-events) and predicted that the target of striving to win this time is from 80 to 100 Gold Medals.

During the working session of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Olympic Committee in Hanoi, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam Olympic Committee - Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - grasped the report on the preparation work of the professional subcommittee to request focusing on preparing the best forces for Thailand.

The professional department of the Sports Achievement Department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports) affirmed the goal of a Gold Medal for each national sports team to send the best force to compete and must achieve. However, countries in the region are preparing the best players for the 33rd SEA Games, so Vietnamese sports will face significant competition.

Must be successful in key subjects

The sports with the national sports team participating in the 33rd SEA Games have reported their professional preparation plan and the gold medal quota to the leaders of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports. The manager emphasized that winning Gold Medals in key events in key events must be completed.

In particular, the martial arts group is the main force competing for the Gold Medal at the 33rd SEA Games. At the 32nd SEA Games, we won Gold Medals in wushu (6), karate (6), judo (8), boxing (2), kickboxing 4, taekwondo 4, jujitsu (1), vat (13), Kun khmer 4, pencak silat (4)... We continue to register to compete in the above events at the 33-2025 SEA Games.

We have chosen the right forces and events, but with the ASIAD and Olympic events in the SEA Games, Vietnamese sports must achieve the best results.

Although in Southeast Asia, there are events with world-class athletes competing, we need to calculate the appropriate force to participate in the SEA Games. Vietnamese sports need to affirm in the ASIAD and Olympic arenas, said former Director of the Department of High Performance Sports 1 (General Department of Physical Education and Sports) - Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh.

According to the Vietnam Olympic Committee, out of 45 sports and sub-sports that Vietnamese sports prepare for the 33rd SEA Games, we need to ensure that 2/3 of the sports and sub-sports must complete the Gold Medal target.

However, the preparation plan is being kept secret. Currently, the Thai Organizing Committee of the 33rd SEA Games has not issued a complete technical handbook for sports. This means that the specific registration of competition content is still being reviewed.

The sports and sub-sports that Vietnamese sports register with host Thailand include athletics and water sports (swimming, jumping), shooting, weightlifting, gymnastics, archery, traditional boat racing, boxing, judo, jujitsu, iron ball, wushu, weightlifting, taekwondo, karate, sword fighting, rowing, canoeing, kickboxing, muay, bicycle, flag, archery, pencak silat, table tennis, aerobics, triathlon, volleyball (playground, futsal), volleyball (ouse, beach), volleyball, golf, basketball, cloud bong, badminton, bowling, sailing, roller, sports, billiards & snooker, ice skating, e-sports, softball & mixed-use (MMA).
