On the afternoon of August 1, striker Nguyen Tien Linh officially said goodbye to Becamex HCMC club after the final training session with the team at Binh Duong Stadium. This is the end of the player born in 1997's nearly decade of association with his hometown team.
Tien Linh grew up at Becamex Binh Duong youth training center and started competing professionally in 2016. To date, he has played 147 matches in the V.League, scoring 71 goals and winning the "inner's goalscorer" title twice in the 2018 and 2024-2025 seasons. He is also the owner of the Vietnam Golden Ball 2024.
The team currently led by coach Nguyen Anh Duc has proactively prepared a replacement personnel plan, when Tien Linh is no longer in the plan for the 2025-2026 season. Some young players have been added to aim for the process of rebuilding the force.
The departure of one of the best strikers in the history of the team marked a big change in both Tien Linh's career and the personnel development orientation of Becamex HCMC club. Tien Linh's next "Ben Do" has not been announced yet.
