Striker Nguyen Tien Linh admitted to having gone through a very difficult time before scoring again in the 3-1 victory of Ho Chi Minh City Police against Song Lam Nghe An in round 22 of V.League 2025-2026.
At Binh Duong Stadium on the evening of May 10, Tien Linh was brought on at the beginning of the 2nd half and quickly left his mark. In the 66th minute, the striker born in 1997 took advantage of a teammate's ball-stealing situation to escape and finish accurately, increasing the score to 2-1 for Ho Chi Minh City Police.
This is Tien Linh's first goal after a streak of 17 consecutive matches without scoring in domestic leagues. This goal also contributed to helping the police team win their first victory under coach Phung Thanh Phuong.
Sharing after the match, Tien Linh could not hide his emotion when mentioning the recent period of decline in form.
For me, the past time has been extremely difficult. With the help of the coaching staff, the leadership and the players, I try to be confident every day. I would like to thank the leadership, the coaching staff and the players for helping me score after a long period of not scoring goals," Tien Linh said.
The striker of the Vietnamese team said that he always strives to train to overcome psychological pressure.
In the past time, I have also practiced hard, listened to encouragement from the coaching staff and the players. Today, the whole team has followed tactics and has a good spirit," the striker born in 1997 shared.
Tien Linh also hopes that the victory against Song Lam Nghe An will become a spiritual boost for Ho Chi Minh City Police to improve their performance in the final stage of the season.
