Choose a suitable locality?
The first phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship has just ended in Dong Anh (Hanoi).
Representatives of the tournament organizing committee and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation confirmed that the tournament was a success with a large number of fans cheering. The stadium in Dong Anh (Hanoi) has a capacity of 2,500 seats but is always full.
"We consider this one of the tournaments to have created significant attraction and for the first time Dong Anh people have seen the national championship held in the area, so they are excited to cheer", said Mr. Tran Thanh Tung, representative of the professional supervision board of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
Last year, the 2024 National Volleyball Championship held its first phase in Ha Tinh. The capacity of more than 2,000 seats here was also packed in all competitions.
At this time, fans continue to look forward to Viet Tri city (Phu Tho) to watch the exciting competitions of the Hung Vuong Cup 2025.
The local organizing committee said that the Viet Tri City Gymnasium (Phu Tho) has a maximum capacity of 3,000 seats but has always "sold out" tickets for many years due to the huge demand for live viewing by fans. With the Hung Vuong Cup 2025, tickets have been on sale since last weekend and have been sold out.
"Each tournament has its own professional nature. The important point lies in choosing the locality to create the attraction from the audience. Hung Vuong Cup is a traditional tournament and is held at the same time of activities on the occasion of Hung Vuong's death anniversary, therefore always creates the attention of the viewer," said the Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation - Mr. Le Tri Truong.
The right organization will attract the audience to cheer
Nearly a month before, the Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup 2025 was held in Ninh Binh. This is an annual tournament to kick off the domestic volleyball season. In fact, the stands at Ninh Binh Provincial Gymnasium at this tournament were empty of supporters.
After nearly 1 month, the above teams still appeared in the first stage of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship in Dong Anh (Hanoi), the stands were packed with spectators.
Now, the 4 best men's teams (Ho Chi Minh City Police, MB Border Guard, The Cong Tan Cang, Da Nang) and the 4 strongest women's teams (LPBank Ninh Binh, VTV Binh Dien Long An, Dong Bac Information, Vietinbank) are present at the Hung Vuong Cup 2025, the tournament is expected to certainly attract a large audience to cheer.
"The competition format is one of the ways for the organizer to create attraction to attract audiences. Currently, the National Volleyball Championship is competing in a round-robin tournament, but with limitations, we will organize continuous matches for 10 days.
The teams did not rest. For professional volleyball in other countries, matches are usually held on weekends to encourage viewers to cheer.
In Vietnam, we can completely organize like that, but the teams will have to pay a large cost of travel (away, home) and accommodation for the players.
The competition time is long and not as continuous as at present. There will not be many Vietnamese teams with enough resources to participate like that, so we have to calculate, said Mr. Le Tri Truong.
The volleyball tournaments held in Vietnam are not in the national system. The competition format and organization are regulated by the Organizing Committee.
The time for volleyball tournaments is short. The National Volleyball Championship has the meaning of determining the achievements of a team in the whole year in the national system, so each team must be cautious in their expertise.
The Vietnam Volleyball Federation starts the plan to organize the national championship volleyball tournament over time (from the end of the previous year to the beginning of the next year). The expected number of matches increased by fighting the first leg, the second leg.
"The audience will see more matches. Players have more matches to improve their skills. The tournament will gradually improve so that the center can still be the best service for fans, said Mr. Le Tri Truong.
In the immediate future, fans will take time to cheer for the matches at the Hung Vuong Cup 2025 from January 3 to April 6.
