After four days of competition from August 6 to 9 at New Sports Club, City Park, The Global City, the Ho Chi Minh City PPA Asia 500 MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 Pickleball Tournament has closed, with more than 500 domestic and international athletes participating in Pro and Amateur events.
In the men's Pro doubles event, Truong Vinh Hien and Do Minh Quan brought one of the most outstanding results for the home team when defeating Ly Hoang Nam - Collin Johns after three sets with scores of 13-11, 6-11, 11-4 to bring home the championship.
The title at the Ho Chi Minh City stage is also the second time Truong Vinh Hien - Do Minh Quan have both won the championship at PPA Tour Asia, after the championships in Hangzhou and Beijing (China). Meanwhile, Ly Hoang Nam and Collin Johns won the runner-up title right in their first collaboration.
Truong Vinh Hien also added a bronze medal in men's singles pro after a 15-13, 11-3 victory over Jack Wong in the third-place match, thereby closing the tournament with an admirable achievement.
In the men's singles pro event, Luc Pham had a remarkable journey when he first appeared in a PPA final. In the semi-finals, the Vietnamese player ended Jack Wong's three consecutive men's singles championships with a comeback of 5-11, 11-7, 11-9. In the final, Luc Pham stopped before Adam Harvey, after losing to his opponent with a score of 4-11, 4-11.
The women's singles pro event witnessed Trang Huynh's memorable milestone. Starting from the qualifying round, Trang Huynh advanced straight to the final and became the first Vietnamese player to participate in the women's singles pro final of the PPA Tour Asia. She won the runner-up title and a silver medal after a three-set match with Australian No. 1 player Andie Dikosavljevic, with scores of 2-11, 11-9, 7-11.
Another Vietnamese representative, Si Boi Ngoc, also stepped onto the medal podium in the Pro mixed doubles event. Competing with Joseph Wild, she won a bronze medal, after reversing the score to defeat the pair Aiko Yoshitomi and Lucas Pascoe.
In the remaining events, Andie Dikosavljevic won the women's singles and together with Yufei Long won the women's doubles title. Lingwei Kong – Hong Kit Wong won the mixed doubles championship after winning three sets against Nok Yiu Tang – Eunggwon Kim.
In parallel with the pro system, Amateur events are organized according to many age groups and levels, creating competition opportunities for a large number of amateur athletes from many countries and territories.
In addition to matches, this year's tournament continues to develop the PickleTown space along with experiential areas, booths and sideline activities around the court complex. Championship Court operates under a limited ticket sales model, while Grandstand Court, auxiliary courts and PickleTown area are open to the public for free.
PPA Asia 500 MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 is organized by UPA Asia, with New Sports as the organizer in Vietnam.
The fact that more than 500 athletes competed together, Vietnamese representatives participated and won medals in many pro events, along with a significant number of spectators and online views, created a vibrant stage when PPA Tour Asia returned to Ho Chi Minh City.
