PPA Asia 500 MB HCMC Open 2026 takes place from August 6 to 9 at New Sports Club, City Park, The Global City, HCMC. In the context that participating athletes have the opportunity to accumulate points on the global PPA rankings, the tournament is also one of the opportunities for Vietnamese players to directly compete with international forces right at home.
One of the most notable faces of the CAND Pickleball Club is Truong Vinh Hien, the No. 1 seed in Vietnam in the men's singles event. Vinh Hien will continue to play an important role in the squad when competing in both singles and doubles events in Ho Chi Minh City.
In the men's doubles event, Truong Vinh Hien continued to stand side by side with Do Minh Quan. The pair just won the men's doubles championship at PPA Asia 500 Leapmotor Singapore Open 2026, taking place from July 23 to 26. The achievement in Singapore helped Minh Quan and Vinh Hien enter the stage in Ho Chi Minh City with confidence and good competition foundation, and at the same time become one of the notable Vietnamese pairs in the medal competition.
PPA Asia 500 MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 also marks the reunion of Truong Vinh Hien and Sophia Huynh. The last time the two players stood on the same court in the PPA Tour Asia system was PPA Asia 1000 MB Hanoi Cup 2026. This combination adds another notable competitive option for the CAND Pickleball team in the mixed doubles event.
Besides familiar faces, this time the team's lineup includes the appearance of Huynh Phuong Dai Trang (Trang Huynh) in the colors of the CAND Pickleball club.
Trang Huynh is one of the Vietnamese female tennis players with notable rankings in the international arena. In May 2026, she held the No. 1 position in Asia on the DUPR rankings with a score of 5.891, and was also in the Top 9 of the APP Pro Singles professional women's singles event. The addition of Trang Huynh helps the CAND Pickleball team increase the depth of force in women's and mixed doubles events before a highly competitive tournament.
