According to information from the Bangladesh Football Federation, the national team of this country will be present in Hanoi on the morning of March 21, 5 days earlier than the time for the international friendly match during FIFA Days with the Vietnamese team at Hang Day Stadium.
The move to arrive early is assessed to help the away team have more time to adapt to weather conditions, fields as well as the playing environment in Vietnam. Previously, the Bangladesh team gathered from March 16 to begin the preparation process.
Although head coach Javier Penato has not announced the official list, the preliminary squad has seen some notable faces. Among them are many Bangladeshi players who grew up from football backgrounds such as England, Finland, USA, Canada and Denmark.
Notably, midfielder Hamza Choudhury - a player who played in the English Premier League for Leicester City. He grew up from the club's academy, played for England U21 and has won several titles at club level.
On the Vietnamese team's side, the match against Bangladesh is considered a warm-up before coach Kim Sang-sik's team welcomes Malaysia at Thien Truong Stadium (Ninh Binh) on March 31st in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup. Through this, the coaching staff has more opportunities to assess the force, test the squad and improve the playing style.
The Vietnam Football Federation has announced a plan to issue match tickets, with two denominations of 200,000 VND and 300,000 VND, distributed through the OneU application (old name VinID). The organization is being implemented to ensure the match takes place safely, serving the viewing needs of fans.
