On the morning of August 20, the Vietnam women's volleyball team arrived at Noi Bai airport (Hanoi) to prepare to depart for Thailand to participate in the 2025 World Volleyball Championship.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will depart at 10:30 and are expected to land in Bangkok (Thailand) at 12:30 on the same day. After that, the whole team will have about 2 hours of rest before continuing to Phuket to start the upcoming important journey.
Regarding the list of players registered to participate in the tournament, after Bich Tuyen withdrew for personal reasons, the Vietnam women's team still has 13 athletes, main attackers Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Phuong, opposite Kieu Trinh, middle blocker Pham Thi Hien, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy, Bich Thuy, setter Lam Oanh, Kim Thoa, libero Khanh Dang, Ninh Anh.
At the world championship, the Vietnam women's team is in the same group as the Polish, German and Kenyan women's teams. These are all strong opponents from Europe and Africa.
Commenting on the opponents, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said: The coaching staff has watched the video footage of the Polish and German teams very carefully. These are world-class teams. We will have difficulty playing against them.
It is certain that Vietnamese players will have difficulty in catching the ball in the first step, because the delivery of the European players is very flexible. When the players minimize errors at this stage, other positions will have the ball to deploy the playing style".
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said that the physical issue is the concern of the team and the coaching staff will create maximum excitement for the whole team to compete in the best results at the 2025 World Championship.
