The Malaysian team called up 38 players to prepare for the match against the Vietnamese team in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

This call-up list includes many mixed, naturalized players and names playing in Europe. The Malaysian team is divided into 3 groups, starting from May 19 with 28 domestic players.

Round 2 (May 25.) added key players from Johor Darul Tazim club, while round 3 (1.6) welcomed the return of two international stars, Dion Cools ( buriram United) and Hector Hevel ( portimonense).

Hevel is a player of the 3 bloodlines of the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia. He is the most anticipated factor in the Malaysia squad.

Having played in the Netherlands, Cyprus and Spain, Hevel opened the scoring in the win over Nepal and was considered by coach Cklamovski to be the "conductor" in Malaysia's playing style.

The list also includes many notable foreign-born players such as Matthew Davies (Australia), Corbin-Ong (Barbados), and naturalized players such as Romel Morales ( colombia) or Paulo Josue (Brazil).

To prepare, Malaysia will play a friendly match with Cape Verde (29) and a closed match on June 3 to perfect the strategy.

Currently, both Malaysia and Vietnam have 3 points after the first match of Group F of the 2027 Asian Cup final qualifiers.

Vietnam temporarily leads the group thanks to better goal difference. The upcoming match on June 10 is considered the "final" of the group, when only one team has the opportunity to take the right to decide for the next round.
