According to the plan on April 6, the Vietnamese swimming team will have 4 swimmers (including Vo Thi My Tien) going to China for training.
The training session will last half a month for athletes to prepare for the 2026 Asian Beach Games. The competition program of the 2026 Asian Beach Games takes place from April 22 in China. Therefore, Vo Thi My Tien and her teammates will finish training in China and then participate in the Games.
In addition to Vo Thi My Tien, the Vietnamese swimming team training in China also includes Nguyen Huy Hoang, Nguyen Kha Nhi and Mai Tran Tuan Anh. This is a group of athletes who will participate in open water swimming, so they will be trained in China.
Currently, the Vietnamese swimming team has Chinese experts coming to Vietnam to coordinate with the coaching staff to provide professional guidance to some key players. In the immediate future, experts will train the group of athletes at the training point in Da Nang.
Vo Thi My Tien once won 1 bronze medal in the individual 10km open water swimming event at SEA Games 33 and 1 gold medal in the 4x1 relay. 500m open water mixed men's and women's.
The female athlete will participate for the first time at the 2026 Asian Beach Games. However, the coaching staff will choose the appropriate content for Vo Thi My Tien to compete and aim for the opportunity to win the highest results.
Open water swimming of the Asian Beach Games will take place in 2 distances including 5km and 10km for men and women.
