The Vietnamese team departed from Hanoi at 12:45 pm on August 20 and landed at Suvarnabhumi International Airport after a smooth flight. Due to the large number of passengers, the whole team spent nearly an hour completing entry procedures.
Previously, team leader Doan Anh Tuan and the logistics department went to Thailand for reconnaissance, preparing accommodation, meals and conditions to serve the team during the competition in Bangkok.

The Vietnamese team qualified for the ASEAN Cup 2026 final after defeating Malaysia with a total score of 4-0 in the semi-finals. This result helped coach Kim Sang Sik's team maintain confidence, but the whole team quickly focused on the confrontation with Thailand.
Because they just played the second leg semi-final match with Malaysia on the evening of August 19 and had to move to Thailand the next day, the coaching staff prioritized players to recover their fitness. After settling down, the players were given rest and relaxation to regenerate energy before entering the final preparation stage.
According to the plan, on the afternoon of August 21, the Vietnamese team will have a single training session at Rajamangala Stadium. This is also the team's last official training session before the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final.

The first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final between Thailand and Vietnam takes place at 8:00 PM on August 22nd at Rajamangala Stadium. The second leg will be held at 8:00 PM on August 26th at My Dinh National Stadium.
