At about 4:30 pm on August 20, heavy rain accompanied by tornadoes occurred in wards 1 Bao Loc, 2 Bao Loc, 3 Bao Loc and B'Lao, causing dozens of houses to have their roofs blown off.
Heavy rain and strong winds also caused many green trees to be uprooted and fallen on the roads, causing traffic obstruction. Among them, ward 2 Bao Loc and ward 3 Bao Loc suffered more severely.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep, a resident on Blaosire street (Ward 3, Bao Loc), said that the thunderstorm lasted for nearly 1 hour, continuous gusts of wind caused the corrugated iron roof to shake strongly and then was swept out of the house.

“Initially, the corrugated iron roof shook violently, then stronger winds caused the roof to be blown up,” Mr. Hiep recounted. After the tornado, the house lost the entire roof.
Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Que, in Residential Group 15 (Ward 2, Bao Loc), said: "When my husband and I were in the house, a tornado suddenly swept through, blowing off the roof. Rainwater then flooded in, causing many properties to be wet. Fortunately, my husband and I were not injured.

The tornado also knocked down some low-voltage power poles, causing many power lines to be affected, causing local power outages in some areas.
Immediately after the natural disaster, local authorities mobilized police, military, militia and youth union members to the scene to support people.

Forces help people move property to safe places, repair and re-roof houses; and at the same time prune fallen green trees and clear roads.
According to initial records, there have been no casualties in the affected localities.

Not only Bao Loc, heavy rain on the same day also caused many green trees to be uprooted, fallen, blocking roads in Da Lat. In Bao Lam 1 commune, many green trees were also knocked down by tornadoes.
Currently, damage caused by heavy rain and tornadoes in Bao Loc and surrounding areas is still being statistically determined by functional agencies.

By the evening of August 20, the forces continued to support people to overcome the consequences, clear roads and statistically assess damage caused by natural disasters.
