Vietnam team plays friendly matches with 2 domestic teams on FIFA Days in September

Thanh Vũ |

In the FIFA Days in September, the Vietnam team will play a friendly match with two domestic clubs, Nam Dinh Steel Blue and Hanoi Police.

During this time, coach Kim Sang-sik will focus all his efforts with U23 Vietnam in the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers.

According to the plan, the Vietnam team will gather from August 29 to September 10 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. During this time, the team will play friendly matches with Nam Dinh club (September 4) and Hanoi Police club (September 7).

This is considered a reasonable choice as both teams have quality foreign players and a strong domestic squad, capable of creating true matches.

At the same time, coach Kim Sang-sik will focus on U23 Vietnam in the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers. In the group held at Viet Tri Stadium, U23 Vietnam will meet Bangladesh (3.9), Singapore (6.9) and Yemen (9.9). The only goal is to win the group stage to qualify for the finals.

The U23 Vietnam squad is currently receiving a lot of expectations when most of the young players are on the field in round 1 of V.League 2025-2026 and leave a clear mark. Names such as Ngoc My (Thanh Hoa), Xuan Bac, Thanh Nhan, Anh Quan, Hieu Minh (PVF-CAND), Van Khang and Dinh Bac are showing stable performance and professional maturity.

With this platform and the experience accumulated after winning the U23 Southeast Asian Championship in Indonesia, U23 Vietnam is assessed to have a great opportunity to complete the goal of participating in the continental Youth Football Festival.
