After successfully competing with the U20 women's team to qualify for the 2026 U20 Asian Women's Championship, coach Okiyama Masahiko has returned with the Vietnam U16 women's team to prepare for the Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship.
Although busy with the Vietnam U20 women's team in the recent past, with the help of experienced assistants including coach Nguyen Thi Mai Lan, coach Okiyama Masahiko is completely assured of the recent training sessions of the Vietnam U16 women's team.

Evaluating the players, coach Okiyama Masahiko said: The players and the coaching staff are still working hard, trying to practice according to the plan I have set out. The whole team is gradually adapting to the playing style being built and is increasingly connected, more united in activities and training".
Officially practicing from July 23 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the Vietnam U16 women's team only has 10 days to prepare before entering the first match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship, taking place in Indonesia.
In the final preparation stage, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his assistants continued to complete the competition squad through 3 practice matches with the subjects of U19 Phong Phu Ha Nam women's team, U19 Zantino Vinh Phuc women's team and U19 Thai Nguyen T&T women's team at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.

In the previous week, the U16 Vietnam women's players also had 2 practice matches in Vinh Phuc and Thai Nguyen and won 2-0 against Zantino Vinh Phuc women's U19, won 4-2 against Thai Nguyen T&T women's U19.
According to the plan, at the end of the 4th training week, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team will leave for Indonesia to compete. At the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship, Vietnamese players in Group B will join Cambodia and Myanmar. The two group matches will take place on August 21 and 25.
