The surprise happened in the 18th minute, when Nam Dinh scored the opening goal. From a quick attack on the right wing, Hong Anh crossed, the ball bounced out and Viet Anh controlled it and shot diagonally, putting the team from Thanh Nam up 1-0.

After conceding the goal, U17 Hanoi continued to increase the pressure. In the 34th minute, Hoang Phuc fouled Manh Duc in the penalty area, helping Manh Quan equalize 1-1 on the penalty spot.
