After a week of active training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, coach Cristiano Roland and his team have accelerated the progress of completing the force and playing style.
In the past time, the Vietnam U17 team has had two training matches with quality "sparring partners" U17 PVF and PVF club. These are considered important tests to help the coaching staff assess player performance, review the squad as well as adjust tactical plans before the tournament.

According to the plan, the team will continue to play a friendly match with U17 Hanoi on April 8. After this match, the coaching staff will finalize the list of 26 official players to participate in the tournament. It is expected that on April 10, the whole team will depart for Indonesia to compete in the 2026 Southeast Asian U17 Championship, taking place from April 11 to 23.
In the group stage, U17 Vietnam is in Group A with host U17 Indonesia, U17 Malaysia and U17 Timor-Leste. This is a highly competitive group when U17 Indonesia and U17 Malaysia are both familiar opponents of Vietnamese youth football in the regional arena.
According to the schedule, U17 Vietnam will successively meet U17 Malaysia (April 13), U17 Timor-Leste (April 16) and U17 Indonesia (April 19). The top two teams in each group will win tickets to the semi-finals.
With a proactive and active preparation process, the Vietnam U17 team aims to achieve favorable results at the regional tournament, thereby creating a stepping stone for the journey towards the continental arena in the coming time.
