At the press conference before the CFA Team China 2026 international football tournament held on March 24 in Xi'an, head coach Dinh Hong Vinh said that U23 Vietnam is focusing on perfecting their playing style and building a successor force, instead of focusing on short-term achievements.
Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh, on behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), thanked the Chinese Football Association (CFA) and the local organizers for creating favorable conditions for the team in the preparation process, from accommodation to training and competition facilities.
Assessing the professional significance of the tournament, he emphasized: "This is an important exchange tournament, helping the team have the opportunity to learn and accumulate experience when facing strong teams such as U23 China, U23 DPRK and U23 Thailand.

According to head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, the force participating in this tournament is a combination of players who have international competition experience and a group of young players with great potential. Among them are some faces who have participated in the AFC U23 Championship finals such as Van Binh, Cong Phuong, Van Thuan, and many young players around the age of 21.
Speaking about the team's professional goals at the tournament, he affirmed: "Our main goal at this tournament is to improve technical and tactical aspects, creating cohesion between old and new forces. Thereby, gradually completing the squad for the next U23 generation, towards upcoming tournaments as well as building forces for the future.
Previously, U23 Vietnam stabilized their accommodation in Tay An and had the first training session to get acquainted with weather conditions and the field. The whole team also visited the Tay An International Football Center stadium (the venue for the tournament's matches) to better prepare for the competition psychology.
The weather in Tay An is about 12 degrees Celsius. However, the training and competition ground conditions are assessed to meet the professional requirements of the participating teams.
According to the schedule, U23 Vietnam will play against U23 DPRK at 2:00 PM on March 25 (Vietnam time).
